Darin Christensen is a Foreign Service officer employed by the U.S. Department of State. Christensen is currently a student at the Foreign Service Institute where he is learning Hungarian in preparation for his next post in Budapest, Hungary. In Budapest, he will report on the treatment of religious and ethnic minorities. His first post was in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, where he adjudicated immigrant visa applications and worked in the Fraud Prevention Unit. Before joining the Foreign Service, he worked as a tax lawyer in Portland, Oregon, for seventeen years. Christensen served in the Copenhagen Denmark Mission from 1986 to 1988. He received a BS in business management and a JD from BYU and an LLM in taxation from the University of Florida. Christensen and his wife Elizabeth (Mathewson) are the parents of five children.
