Darin Christensen is a Foreign Service Officer employed by the U.S. Department of State. He is currently a student at the Foreign Service Institute where he is learning Hungarian in preparation for his next post in Budapest, Hungary. In Budapest, he will report on the treatment of religious and ethnic minorities. His first post with the U.S. Foreign Service was in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico where he adjudicated immigrant visa applications and worked in the Fraud Prevention Unit. Before joining the U.S. Foreign Service, he worked as a tax lawyer in Portland Oregon for 17 years. Darin served in the Denmark, Copenhagen mission from 1986 to 1988. He has a B.S. in Business Management and a J.D. from BYU and an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida. Darin is married to Elizabeth Mathewson Christensen and they have five children.
