Nicole Gomez grew up in Coyhaique, a small town in the Chilean Patagonia. When Gomez was sixteen, she spent a year in Flagstaff, Arizona, as an exchange student “with a lovely family,” and she “fell in love with the U.S.” Following graduation from high school and working for a year, she returned in 2013 to attend the English Language Center for six months in Provo and then moved to Salt Lake to complete an associate’s degree in business management at LDS Business College. Returning home again, she served in the Germany Berlin Mission (201617). While in Germany, Gomez “learned to love the language and culture.” She is “grateful for the opportunity to learn from different cultures” and is now majoring in international relations at BYU.
