Carly Beesley’s first international experience was as a BYU freshman. Beesley won a trip to Denmark to participate in a family history reality TV show and worked there during the summer, learning about Danish culture and an alternative way of living. During a semester at the Jerusalem Center in her junior year at BYU, she visited Egypt and Jordan and also met her husband. That experience led to an interest in Middle Eastern conflict and continued study of the region, eventually graduating with a BS in geography/geospatial intelligence and a minor in English.

Following their marriage, they moved to Greece to work in the Oinofyta Refugee Camp, and while there, they felt that living internationally would be a good choice. He is currently studying at BYU, and they will move abroad when he finishes his degree. She is pursuing a master’s in international relations through American University. They are excited to expose their daughter to the larger global environment.
